KNOCKED LOOSE PREMIERE CRUSHING NEW SONG, DETAIL NEW ALBUM
New hardcore leaders Knocked Loose have announced their highly anticipated sophomore album, A Different Shade of Blue, due August 23rd via Pure Noise Records (you can pre-order it here now), and unleashed its bulldozing lead single “…And Still I Wander South.” Working with producer Will Putney, the group — singer Bryan Garris, guitarists Issac Hale and Cole Crutchfield, bassist Kevin Otten and drummer Kevin Kaine — evolved from their previous “live in studio” recording approach to craft 12 industrial-strength new tracks in a much more deliberate and focused fashion. The results are clear on April’s finely honed single “Mistakes Like Fractures” and today’s “…And Still I Wander South,” the latter of which “is about wanting to move on, or better yourself for whatever reason, but you keep going back to the same old thing,” according to Garris. “Whether that be depression or whatever you may be going through. You always wander back to the same mindset.”
In addition to those two songs, A Different Shade of Blue also includes “A Serpent’s Touch” and “Forget Your Name,” which feature guest vocals from Dying Wish’s Emma Boster and Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley, respectively.
