Slayer: Final Campaign Kickoff
On Saturday, November 2nd, Slayer kicked off the concluding leg of their farewell world tour, dubbed the Final Campaign, at Explore Asheville Arena in Asheville, North Carolina. After the diverse bill of Phillip H. Anselmo & the Illegals (who tore through 30 minutes of Pantera classics), Ministry and Primus warmed up the crowd, the thrash trailblazers played an incendiary, career-spanning 20-song set and then bid the hordes of diehards assembled a heartfelt goodbye. Revolver was in the house to catch all the action — you can read our review of the full concert here — as was contributing photographer Will Warasila. See some of his standout shots of the iconic headliners, as well as the three opening acts, all iconic in their own right, below.
