SEE GOJIRA TAKE OVER BONNAROO

via Revolver

“At metal festivals, we see people wearing mostly black shirts, and today was a lot of colors,” Gojirafrontman Joe Duplantier says with a laugh. He’s talking about Bonnaroo 2019, where his group was one of just two metal bands — the other being Deafheaven — to perform. (The festival is held in Manchester, Tennessee, and known for it’s camping, food and wild lineups.) But Gojira don’t mind being any fest’s “black sheep.” “It’s such a good feeling and it’s not just to shock people or be over the top or whatever,” Duplantier enthuses. “It’s to share something with people because we all have frustrations sometimes, we all have anger and a dark side … Sometimes it’s good to let go and just be a beast.” Join Gojira and fans as they share the cathartic experience, inflatable whales and all, with the video above. The band will be back on the Bonnaroo grounds in October to play the all-new Exit 111 festival with GN’R, Slayer, Deftones and more.
